Washington Post Puzzler No. 8 05/30 Mike Shenk
« on: June 04, 2010, 09:24:49 PM »
I've only recently discovered this weekly series (edited by Peter Gordon) that consists of hard, but enjoyable, themeless puzzles.

In No. 8, some of my favorite entries are:

Place to raise dogs?     HASSOCK
Fifth element     ETHANOL
Job holder    BIBLE

However, I am totally mystified ??? by the following:
One may have a grip on it      SET

I hope one of you can help me out with this.
Thanks.

Hi, Melanie---

It probably refers to a stage set which has people who move lighting and who are called grips.
