Good Ones:

Pop of pop music   IGGY [I’d have left off “music”]
Theme: The letter L preceding vowel sounds, in alphabetical order through the grid [too bad so many will miss this covert theme]

By the Way:
There are three famous people in the grid, each one with both first and last names.  Wonder how often that happens.

Nit to Pick:
LOUGEHRIG doesn't have a long u.  To be consistent with the four previous long vowel sounds, the word "lieutenant" would be needed.  Or, a word like "luminary" could make the theme about the letters and not the sounds.

RATING:    Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
