Possible Title:
That's Not What I MeantTheme: Reinterpreted words
Good Ones:Buccaneer TOPPRICEFORCORN [buck an ear]
Propaganda RESPECTFULGOOSE [proper gander: in Brooklyn it would be “propa ganda” --- if we knew what a gander was]
IV-covered areas ERS
Cow poke PROD [note two words]
Big-grin borders EARS [“grin from ear to ear”]
Pronoun that’s a homonym of a song HIM
Under-cover duds PJS [pajamas in bed]
By the Way:Hilarious ARIOT [generally articles are avoided in clues --- in this case a good clue would be “You’re ___, Alice”]
Some Nits to Pick:Bury the hatchet AGREE [Perhaps, but they are far apart. The clue means to stop fighting --- there is agreement to stop; but would declaring war on each other also be “to agree”? The clue should be “accord,” but not in the sense of “peace accord” because that means “peace agreement,” not agreement in general, which is what AGREE means. If you understand this, please let me know what it says as I am now confused.
