THEME:   The letters N,I,G,H, and T are circled in the grid

GOOD ONES:
Classic HYMN {& theme}   SILENT NIGHT [silent in that the letters do not stand out]
Ones making the rounds?   BARTENDERS    [they literally make the rounds (drinks)]
Present day?   CHRISTMAS [and the underlying theme of the puzzle with seven references to the holiday]

BTW:
Remove all doubt   BE SURE [BE SURE = remove self-doubt; prove = remove all doubt]

Determined ahead of time   PRESET [Uh, oh!  L.A. Rewind will object since "PRE" is not needed and considered redundant, but it is colloquial.]

On Christmas Eve (DAY), getting a puzzle like this is a gift.

RATING:    ;D ;D ;D
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
