Acrosslite and entering numbers into the grid

I was unable to complete a Birnholz puzzle last week because it requires the entry of a number into the grid.  The virtual keyboard in Acrosslite on my iPad only has letters.  Does anyone know how to get around this?  I have the paid version so I am hoping there is an option that allows me to do this.

If you're still wondering or if someone else comes across this post wondering the same thing, Across Lite for iOS treats numeric entry and symbols as part of the package unlocked by paying for rebus support. Once paid, there will be two new buttons for toggling the rebus entry and the number/symbol entry near the keyboard preference button.
