2018 WSJ link?
« on: January 06, 2018, 09:10:27 PM »
I used this link to DL 2017 WSJ puzzles: https://www.fleetingimage.com/wij/xyzzy/17-wsj.html.

Does anyone know what the 2018 link is? And inputting 8 where 7 is does not work (not yet at least).

The puzzles are out there but it looks like the 2018 fleetingimage webpage hasn't been created yet.

Individual puzzles are at these links:
http://herbach.dnsalias.com/wsj/wsj180102.puz
http://herbach.dnsalias.com/wsj/wsj180103.puz
http://herbach.dnsalias.com/wsj/wsj180104.puz
http://herbach.dnsalias.com/wsj/wsj180105.puz
http://herbach.dnsalias.com/wsj/wsj180106.puz

You just need to change the date in the URL everyday

I use a shortcut to build the URL since I download the WSJ puzzles daily.

If you are on a Mac, put the following line in a file, save it, and use Terminal to make the file executable. This can be adapted if you are on Windows, Linux, ...

open http://herbach.dnsalias.com/wsj/wsj`date +"%y%m%d"`".puz" >> test && exit

WSJ puzzle for March 19, 2018 (was Re: 2018 WSJ link?)

The WSJ puzzle for March 19, 2018 didn't appear for some reason on the fleeting image site.  Here it is if you want it for your collection.

As always, cut and paste everything below to a text file and save it.  Then start Across Lite and click File/Open to pull in the text file.  You can solve it there or save it as a .puz file.

Here it is if you want it for your collection.

Thank you.  However, I proofread it and found a couple of errors.  Corrections below, along with some stylistic changes to make it look like the other "fleeting-image" PUZ files.
