THEME:   AL inserted in phrases

GOOD ONES:
Title: Aluminum Siding [AL is chemical symbol of aluminum
& in a way is on the (back) side of the word]
Really bad bubbly?   BRUTAL CHAMPAGNE
Important exam for shady lenders?   SHARK FINAL
King dog   CUJO  [from his novel]
They may follow teams   SLEDS
Poll man   GALLUP [not horse racing]
Norman's home   OKLA [I thought vikings]

BTW:
To be, to Bizet   ETRE [but not to Arne]
Cold, to Carlos   FRIO [but not to Edward]
Water under the pont   EAU as in eau de cologne is used; pont less so but is used in place names.

Block, beaver style   DAM UP [sounds redundant to me, but it is used often]

Last-minute jitters?   ALTAR HEELS [not sure this is a real term, but it should be]

Enjoyed the unusual cluing throughout.

Sorry I can't get editing to work; perhaps it's Windows 10.

RATING: 3 grins
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
