THEME:   phrases beginning with Greek alphabet names

GOOD ONES:
Deer girl   DOE

BTW:
School, to Yvette ECOLE [but not to Stanley]

Good, in the Galapagos  BUENO [not bad in English Xwords]

Never liked covert themes; this one needs the word GREEK somewhere.

RATING:    ;D
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun

Kevin Christian included the words ALPHA, BETA, DELTA and GAMMA but I had to PSI when I saw a poorly worded clue. (Yes, I know that was a horrible pun.) For EATMYDUST, the clue was "Try and catch me!" The proper wording is "try to." Unfortunately, "try and" is becoming increasingly common. I've even seen the phrase in Los Angeles Times stories. Put it in past tense and you'll see how ridiculous it sounds: "He tried and catch me" as opposed to "He tried to catch me." I hope Kevin Christian will try to use better grammar from now on.

The puzzle also included COQ, ECOLE and ETRE. I guess there wasn't room to also include AMIE, ETE, MER and TETE.
