				Hello. First time poster.

I have created a word puzzle that is sort of a mix of anagrams, crosswords and sudoku. It will rely on good clues and themes to be fun, but I have no experience in this. Is there a database of words with clues that I can start off of?

When I get a draft together, would discussing it here be on topic?

 Thank you,
 Will

There's a database with clues on this site: http://www.cruciverb.com/data.php

You can find something similar at http://www.xwordinfo.com/Finder

They are both web-form based. You should try them first to see if they're what you want.

I also happen to like writing clues, as do many others. I would be happy to help out with the cluing if you're interested, or others might be as well.  I am reachable by e-mail at baroc001@umn.edu.

Thanks for the feedback. So the database on cruciverb is not something I can download once I become a member? I can only access it one word at a time?

				fulldecent,

That's correct, so far as I know, you may not download the entire database. You may, however, download a flat file of the words (entries) in the database. So you can't get the clues or other metadata, just the word list.
